The muscles from your feet to back are tightened while wearing heels. Plantar fascia being one of the main ligaments in our foot forms the arch of foot sole. The ligament is then connected to our calf muscles which are linked to our hamstrings. The lower pelvis and back are connected to our hamstrings. When we choose to wear heels daily it causes a constant strain to our lower back.
You walk on the balls of your feet when wearing heels. Our body weight and center of gravity is pushed forward when we are standing on the balls of our feet. The body must compensate for this shift which causes an arch or our bodies to lean back to maintain balance. When the back is arched for long periods of time it can develop pain in the area.
